Graphic Novel Review: The City on the Other Side

Graphic Novel Review: The City on the Other Side by Mairghread Scott, illustrated by Robin Robinson

When a wealthy and sheltered young girl stumbles into a pitched war between two fairy kingdoms, the fate of San Francisco itself hangs in the balance!

The first decade of the twentieth century is coming to a close, and San Francisco is still recovering from the great earthquake of 1906. Isabel watched the destruction safely from her window, sheltered within her high-society world.

Isabel isn't the kind of girl who goes on adventures. But that all changes when she stumbles through the invisible barrier that separates the human world from the fairy world. She quickly finds herself caught up in an age-old war and fighting on the side of the Seelie—the good fairies.

Plot: The plot was interesting! I liked the idea that the fairy world exists right along side the human world, and what happens on one side has an effect on the other.

Characters: The characters were all good! Honestly, next to Isabel and Benjii, my favorite character was Button!

Art: Good! All the characters looked really different from one another, and the fairy world was neat looking!

Overall: This was a really interesting Graphic Novel! If you're looking for a good fantasy graphic novel, with a unique world, definitely try this book!

I received an e-ARC of this book from the publisher.

Beach Reads 2018!

It's my annual Beach Reads post of the YA books I'm looking forward to reading this summer! (Not just at the beach, but everywhere!) I love putting together these posts! A beach read to me is a contemporary that maybe also features a romance in it. Now these won't be the only books I read this summer! I have a Middle Grade book post coming up, and I might have a Graphic Novel post, too!

All of the books below release between April and August. If I got a date wrong, I apologize!

My Fifth Blogoversary!

Today is my FIFTH Blogoversary!!!!!!!  It's kind of amazing I've been blogging this long, it doesn't feel like it. When I began my blog five years ago, I don't think I realized how big a part of my life it would be, and how many wonderful opportunities I would get because of it.

I've gotten to talk to a lot of wonderful people because of it. All the bloggers, authors, and bookish people I've talked to because of my blog are awesome! I've found out about so many books I wouldn't have, if I didn't have this blog. I've gotten to interview some really great authors. I've gotten to read really great books.

I'm just really thankful for all of these things! And to all you people who take the time from your day to read my blog, and to anyone who has ever read it, you all are awesome, and THANK YOU for reading! Here's to many more years! :)

Top Ten Books on My Spring TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl blog

I really like putting together these TBR TTT lists! I'm only including books releasing in late March, April, and the beginning of May in this post. Because I know I'm going to read books beside these, but to narrow this list down, I'm only including books releasing then! Here we go! :)

And I actually managed to keep to just ten books this week! Yay for me! :)

Top Ten Books on My Spring TBR

There we go! Ten of the books on my Spring TBR list! Do you want to read any of these? :)
