Interview With Patricia Bailey!

Today I'm pleased to present an interview with Patricia Bailey! Ms. Bailey is the author of the MG book The Tragically True Adventures of Kit Donovan, which releases April 25th! :)

Here's the interview!

The bold font are the questions I asked, the regular font are her answers, and the bold italic font are my comments about her answers.

Would you please describe your debut book, The Tragically True Adventures of Kit Donovan, in seven words?

Murder. Guilt. Bravery. Friendship. Redemption. Compassion. Biscuits.

The book takes place in 1905. Besides that time period, what is one of your favorites to write/read about?
I’ve always liked stories set in the late 1800’s. Gunfighters, saloon girls, Wild West Shows, range wars, and boom towns – that kind of thing.

Random question! What's your favorite ice cream flavor?
Chocolate peanut butter.

Mmm, that sounds good.

What's one piece of advice you would give to aspiring authors?
Write the story you want to write and worry about the business side of things later.

Good advice!

What are some MG and YA books you're looking forward to in 2017? And if you've already read some '17 books, which books have you loved?

So many. Right now the ones I’m super eager for are:
Sara J Pla’s The Someday Birds, Leah Henderson’s One Shadow on the Wall, Alexandra Ott’s Rules for Thieves, Kate Henderson’s The Duke of Bannerman Prep, and Caroline Leech's Wait for Me.

I’ve had the chance to read several 2017 debuts so far and loved them all. My current faves are:
Poison’s Kiss by Breeana Shields
You’re Welcome Universe by Whitney Gardner

Cilla Lee-Jenkins:  Future Author Extraordinaire by Susan Tan

So many good sounding books!

Thank you so much to Ms.Bailey for participating in this event! :)
