RED Book Tag!

Created by Awkwordly Emma

Emma (Awkwordly Emma) created this tag themed around Taylor Swift's album Red (Which, as many of you probably know, Taylor Swift is my favorite singer, and Red is one of my favorite albums!), and tagged me to fill in my answers to it. I think this is a really fun tag, and I'm looking forward to filling it in! Here we go! :)

State of Grace - "And I never saw you coming/And I'll never be the same."

A book you unexpectedly loved.

I have a lot of books I could list for this answer, but I'll go with a book that I read recently, The Butterfly Conspiracy by Vivian Conroy!

Red - "Faster than the wind, passionate as sin/Ending so suddenly."

A book that was a whirlwind experience to read.

Definitely any of the Keeper books by Shannon Messenger, but Nightfall had a lot of twists, and changed a lot of what we thought we knew about the story that had happened so far, so I'm going to go with that book. (These books may be 700 pages, but they just fly by while reading them!)

Treacherous - "And I'd be smart to walk away/But you're quicksand."

A book relationship that you think was a bad idea.

There was a relationship in a book I read this year, that from the very beginning I thought it was a bad idea. I'm not going to mention the book by name, because otherwise it wasn't a bad book, but if I talk about this relationship, people will probably think I hated the book, which isn't true.

I Knew You Were Trouble - "I knew you were trouble when you walked in/So shame on me now."

A favorite villain.

I'm going to answer with the Neverseen from the Keeper books, because while you may not actually like the Neverseen, they're evil, which is what a true villain is supposed to be.

All Too Well - "But maybe this thing was a masterpiece til you tore it all up."

A book or series you think is a masterpiece.

22 - "We're happy, free, confused, and lonely in the best way."

A happy, carefree book.

From Twinkle, With Love by Sandhya Menon isn't totally carefree, but it has an adorable relationship in it, and it made me smile a lot, so I'm counting it for this question!

I Almost Do - "I hope you know that, every time I don't, I almost do."

A book you wish you loved.

Oooh, there are so many books I could list here. I try not to talk about the books I didn't like, just because I don't like to talk negatively about books. If I didn't like it, I just don't talk about it. (Not to say that negative reviews are bad! They can be very useful. I just don't like to write them myself.) But a book that I feel like everyone loves that I just don't, is The Hunger Games. I would love to have loved it (Because so many people do!), but it just wasn't my type of book. I never even finished it.

We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together - "And I'm like, 'I just- I mean, this is exhausting, you know?
Like, we are never getting back together, like, ever.'"

A book you never, ever, EVER want to reread.

I definitely am able to think of a few books for this answer, but I feel mean saying them, so I'm gonna leave this one blank. :)

Stay Stay Stay - "So I think it's best if we both stay."

A book with a happily ever after (or a happily ever for now).

The Last Time - "Put my name at the top of your list."

A book written by two authors.

Holy Ground - "But I don't wanna dance if I'm not dancing with you."

A relationship that doesn't continue past the last page of the book.

I know I've read books where this happens, but I don't remember which ones they were!

Fun fact: Holy Ground was my favorite song from this album for so long, and it's still one of my top favorites from this album!

Sad Beautiful Tragic - "What a sad beautiful tragic love affair."

Your favorite sad book.

Honestly, I don't read very many sad books, so I had a hard time trying to think of a answer to this one. I finally decided on Summers at Castle Auburn, because while it may not be exactly a "sad" book, it definitely has its moments. It's an excellent book, though!

The Lucky One - "Another name goes up in lights, like diamonds in the sky."

A popular character (within their book or within the book lovers' community).

I'm to list Cammie Morgan from the Gallagher Girl books by Ally Carter!

Everything Has Changed - "All I know since yesterday is everything has changed."

A friends-turned-lovers story. (Inspired by that adorable music video.)

Oh, look, another Kasie West book! Love, Life, and the List has an adorable romance in it.

Starlight - "I met Bobby on the boardwalk, summer of '45."

Your favorite historical fiction story.

I have a lot of books I could list here, but I'm going to pick A Worthy Pursuit by Karen Witemeyer!

Begin Again - "But on a Wednesday in a cafe, I watched it begin again."

A book you wanted to reread as soon as you'd finished it.

That was fun! Thank you to Emma for tagging me! I'm tagging Jennifer at YABookNerd (If she wants to participate!), and anyone else who wants to participate in this tag! :)
