Summer Lovin': Interview With Kate Bromley!

Hi, everyone! Today I am pleased to present an interview with Kate Bromley, the author of the Adult Romance, Talk Bookish to Me, which is out now!

The bold font are the questions I asked, the regular font are her answers, and the bold italic font are my comments about her answers.

Would you please tell us a little about your book, Talk Bookish to Me?

Talk Bookish to Me is a contemporary romantic comedy novel set in NYC. It follows a best-selling romance novelist with writer's block who suddenly finds herself inspired when she's thrown together with her infuriating first love during the week of her best friend's wedding. Talk Bookish to Me has laughs, emotional moments, and plenty of romance -- plus there's also an adorable bulldog named Duke!

What was the inspiration for it?

The inspiration really came from me just loving romance novels so much and from obsessively reading them for so many years -- it made me ask myself, what kind of book would I write if I was a writer? One day, I decided to give it a try and wrote a chapter, and eventually I wrote the book that I wanted to read. I haven't stopped since.

Random Question! What’s your favorite trope?

Oh, I love this question! I'm such a fan of so many tropes, but I've yet to find a forbidden romance that I've been able to resist.

There are so many good tropes out there!

If you’re able to talk about it, what are you currently working on?

I'm currently editing my second novel which I couldn't be more excited about! It's a stand-alone that centers around the theater/the theater world and is set in London. It also features one of the characters from Talk Bookish to Me!

It sounds really good!

What are some of your favorite Romance books? And what are some you’re looking forward to reading?

For contemporary romance, I absolutely loved The Hating Game and The Kiss Quotient, and for historical romance, my go-to author is Lisa Kleypas. I'm really looking forward to reading Float Plan, and Sajni Patel and Sarah Smith books are definitely auto-buys for me.

Excellent picks!

Thank you to Kate Bromley for participating in this event! :)

Author Bio: Kate Bromley lives on the East Coast with her husband, son, and her somewhat excessive collection of romance novels. (It's not hoarding if it's books, right?) She was a preschool teacher for seven years and is now focusing full-time on combining her two great passions - writing swoon-worthy love stories and making people laugh. Talk Bookish To Me is her first novel.
