Review: Not the Duke’s Darling (Greycourt #1) by Elizabeth Hoyt
Freya de Moray is many things: a member of the secret order of Wise Women, the daughter of disgraced nobility, and a chaperone living under an assumed name. What she is not is forgiving. So when the Duke of Harlowe, the man who destroyed her brother and led to the downfall of her family, appears at the country house party she's attending, she does what any Wise Woman would do: she starts planning her revenge.
Christopher Renshaw, the Duke of Harlowe, is being blackmailed. Intent on keeping his secrets safe, he agrees to attend a house party where he will put an end to this coercion once and for all. Until he recognizes Freya, masquerading amongst the party revelers, and realizes his troubles have just begun. Freya knows all about his sins—sins he'd much rather forget. But she's also fiery, bold, and sensuous—a temptation he can't resist. When it becomes clear Freya is in grave danger, he'll risk everything to keep her safe. But first, Harlowe will have to earn Freya's trust-by whatever means necessary.
Features a bonus novella from New York Times bestselling author Grace Burrowes!

Plot: I really liked it! I enjoyed how there was a bit of a mystery in the book (not going to say anything else about it, for fear of spoiling people), and I thought the romance was really well done!
Characters: I really liked Freya and Christopher! Freya being a part of a group called the Wise Women was interesting, and I liked her personality. Christopher (excuse me, the Duke of Harlowe) was swoony! I didn't expect to have chapters from another characters perspective, but I really liked Messalina, and was happy to see that a book about her is next!
The Cover: I like it! And her dress is gorgeous!
Overall: I haven't read any of this author's books before, but I'm definitely interested in reading more now! I had been in a bit of a reading slump, where nothing was catching my attention, but when I received this book I decided to give it a try. I'm so happy I did! This was such a good book, and it drew me in very quickly! I also loved the bonus story by Grace Burrowes (Another author I had never read from before, but will most definitely be seeking out more books from!), which was so fun, and it was set at Christmas, which is always a plus! I highly recommend reading this book! And I can't wait for the next novel in the series!
I received a finished copy of this book from the publisher.
