My Birthday Post! (22 Bookish Facts About Me)

Today is my 22nd Birthday! I was trying to decide what blog post to write for today, and I finally decided on listing 22 bookish facts about myself! :)

Here we go! :)

1. I will read pretty much any genre!
2. Except anything that's really scary, because I am a scaredy cat.
3. I collect bookmarks!
4. I probably have well over 200.
5.  But I'm not exactly sure how many, because I've never counted them.
6. I also usually forget to actually use them when I'm reading.
7. But this year I've been trying to make an effort to use them!
8. And I'm doing pretty well with that!
9. I love to read Picture Books with my Mom!
10. Middle Grade books tend to be my favorite, because they speak to my heart the most.
11. But I love YA books, Picture Books, and now, Adult books, a lot, too!
12. I totally don't have enough space on my bookshelves for all my books.
13. Like, I have stacks of books all over my room because of that.
14. My bookshelves are organized, even though it doesn't look that way to other people.
15. I just have a way that makes sense to me.
16. My dream is to have a wall of floor-to-ceiling bookshelves!
17. I love my library!
18. At least 90% of the books I read, I get from them.
19. A pretty cover won't make me read a book, but it will get my attention quicker.
20. But an ugly cover won't keep me from reading a book, either.
21. If a book makes me laugh, I am far quicker to reread it in the future.
22. This is a given, but I love books!

That took me longer to write than I thought! :)

Mini Review: Changes in Latitudes

Mini Review: Changes in Latitudes by Jen Malone

A "road" trip romance that takes place at sea!

All Cassie wants is to get some solid ground under her feet following the shock of her parents' divorce. So when she learns of her mom's plans to take Cassie and her brother, Drew, on a four-month sailing trip from Oregon to Mexico, she's stunned. There is absolutely nothing solid about the Pacific Ocean.

Cassie is furious. And nervous. It's been hard enough keeping Drew sheltered from what Cassie knows about her mother's role in breaking their family apart, but living in such close quarters threatens to push her anger past its tipping point. Enter Jonah, a whip-smart deckhand who's as gorgeous as he is flirtatious. Cassie tries to keep him at a distance, but the more time they spend together--wandering San Francisco, riding beachside roller coasters, and exploring the California coastline--the harder it is to fight the attraction.

Cassie wants to let herself go, but her parents' split has left her feeling adrift in a sea of questions she can't even begin to answer. Can she forgive her mom? Will home ever feel the same? Should she take a chance on Jonah? With life's unpredictable tides working against her, Cassie must decide whether to swim against them... or dive right in.

Mini review: This was a good YA book! I loved Jonah! I really enjoyed that so much of this book took place at sea, that was a fun and unique thing for a YA novel! And I learned a lot about sailing (I knew basically nothing about it before now.) while reading this book, which was fun! If you're looking for a YA novel that's just right for summer, then definitely try this book! :)

I won an ARC of this book in a giveaway from the author.

Adult Books I've Read (And Ones On My TBR List!)

I usually don't read Adult books. It's not that I think they're bad, it's just that I'm so busy reading Picture Books, Middle Grade, YA, and Graphic Novels, I don't usually have time to read any. In past years I would occasionally pick one up if my Mom recommended it to me as one I would like, but for the most part I didn't read them. But at the beginning of this year I told myself I would make an effort to read at least a little bit more of them than normal, and I have! MG and YA books are still definitely in the lead as far as how many books I read (And they're going to stay there, because those are the books that speak to my heart the most.), but I'm happy to say that I have read eight Adult books so far this year! Which is way more than I normally read of them! And I thought in this post I would share a few of my favorites, plus list some that I want to read!

Here we go!

The first books I'm going to mention are A Worthy Pursuit by Karen Witemeyer, and the companion novella, The Husband Maneuver. These were really good! I quite liked them, and I want to read more of this authors books!

Then Curious Minds and Dangerous Minds by Janet Evanovich. My Mom (She likes a lot of Janet Evanovich's books!) recommended the first one to me as something that I would like, and she was right! These were funny, and I enjoyed reading them! I hope there will be more in the series!

And then A Front Page Affair and Murder Between the Lines by Radha Vatsal. My Mom found these for me at the library, and I liked them a lot! These were interesting mysteries, and I look forward to reading more books in the series!

Now for the books I want to read! (I'm only including books that have already been released in this post.)

This is one of my Mom's favorite cozy mystery series! It sounds good, and she thinks I'll like it!

This looks good!

This kept showing up in my search results when I was looking for historical mysteries, and it looks good!

It looks interesting!

This looks like a good read!

Plus, I want to read more books by the authors I've already read! :)

Have you read any of these? And do you have any recommendations for me? :)

Last week I talked about what my favorite Middle Grade, YA, and Adult books were so far this year, now today I'm going to be talking about my favorite Picture Books! I've mentioned before on the blog how my Mom and I enjoy reading picture books together, so the ones mentioned in this post are ones we both enjoyed! :)

Books I'm Looking Forward to in 2018!

Here is my annual post (Inspired by posts Emma does!) about what books I'm looking forward to in the coming year! (A little later in the year than normal, but never mind that!) Below I'm going to be listing the YA books, Middle Grade books, Adult books, Graphic Novels, and Picture Books that I'm looking forward to in 2018! These are fun to put together, and I hope you find something from this post to add to your TBR list! :)

Here we go! :)

As always, I apologize if I get a title, release date, or anything else wrong. I try to make the list accurate, but sometimes things do slip past. All links go to Goodreads. Also, there are some books I'm looking forward to next year that don't have Goodreads pages yet, but I am not including them because I don't want to list inaccurate information about them (Like release date, title, etc.).

Listed by Middle Grade, YA, Adult, Graphic Novels, and Picture Books. Listed in those categories by authors last name. And if there's a * by the book, then (as far as I'm able to tell) it's a debut. Easier to find and support debut authors that way! :)

All of these books look really good! :)

Adult:

Graphic Novels:

I'm really happy with the amount of books I found this year! Do you want to read any of these? And do you have any recommendations for me? Tell me! :)
