Top Ten Books On My Fall 2018 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl blog

Even though Summer is my favorite season, and even though it's still very hot here (I don't expect Fall temps anytime soon, but I'm hoping!), I have to admit I'm looking forward to Fall! I miss my cozy sweaters, and it's pretty nice to curl up with a book when it's cooler outside. And speaking of books, here's my Fall 2018 TBR list! Five of the books listed here are ones that have already been released (I'm a little behind on my reading right now, because of some health reasons, but I'm hoping to catch up this Fall!), and five are books that release this Fall. But they are all books I'm looking forward to reading! Here we go! :)

Top Ten Books On My Fall 2018 TBR

Books That Have Already Released:

This is one of the books that I wanted to read this summer, but got behind and didn't get to. I really like this series, and I'm looking forward to reading what happens next!

Another book that I'm really looking forward to reading! I really love the whole idea of this book. And I really like the authors other books!

I really love these Graphic Novels, and I'm looking forward to reading this one and seeing what happens to the characters next!

This is one of my Mom's favorites series, and I keep saying I'm going to read it, and I haven't yet. But I've been feeling like a mystery, so hopefully I'll get to it this Fall!

I've also been feeling like a historical, and this one looked good! I've read some of Carolyn Meyer's books before and liked them, so I'm hoping I'll like this one, too!

Books That Release This Fall:

Doesn't this book look perfect for Fall? I have an e-ARC of this one, and I'm hoping to get to it this week!

I love ND books, and this new Christmas themed one looks like fun!

My Mom and I have a tradition of reading Debbie Macomber's new Christmas book together each year, and I look forward to it! By the way, can you tell I'm looking forward to Christmas? :)

Ella Enchanted is one of my favorite books (In fact, I'm thinking of trying to make time to reread it this Fall.), which means this book obviously is on my TBR list!

My Mom and I both loved the first two books in this series of Star Wars picture books, and we're really looking forward to this new one!

That's ten of the books on my Fall 2018 TBR? What are you looking forward to reading? :)

Review: Friday Night Stage Lights

Review: Friday Night Stage Lights by Rachele Alpine

The Cutting Edge meets Step Up in this hilarious M!X novel where the worlds of football and ballet collide.

Brooklyn Gartner eats, sleeps, and breathes ballet. But after her mom gets remarried and moves them to Texas, everything changes. Thanks to her star football player stepbrother, her family is football obsessed. And thanks to a new conditioning program, the middle school football team starts to take classes at her dance studio—the only place Brooklyn felt like she belonged.

She has a chance to escape if she can get into her dream high school, The Texas School of the Arts, where she’ll be able to pursue her passion for dance. Brooklyn just has to get through the big All-City showcase first, where a ton of scouts will be there, including one from TSOTA.

But when Brooklyn’s dance partner gets injured, she has to turn to an unexpected ally—Logan, a boy on the middle school football team—to help her get through the showcase. With some fancy footwork, teamwork and a little understanding, can Brooklyn make her mark, and dance her way onto a bigger stage?

Plot: I really liked the plot of this book! And I liked reading a book with ballet in it.

Characters: I really liked all the characters in this book! Brooklyn was great as a main character, and reading about her love for ballet was neat. It was also nice to read a MG book where the family of the main character played a big role, from her stepbrother, to her Mom and stepdad. And her friends were also good characters!

The cover: I really like the cover, I think it fits the book really well!

Overall: A really fun Middle Grade book! I would definitely recommend it! :)

I received an e-ARC of this book from the publisher.

Mini Review: The Lady of Tarpon Springs

Review: The Lady of Tarpon Springs by Judith McCoy Miller

Much to the dismay of her Greek family, Zanna Krykos makes a living as a lawyer in Tarpon Springs, Florida. When her friend Lucy needs legal advice about the business she inherited upon her father's passing, she ends up asking Zanna to run the business instead so she can focus on her medical career.

Nico Kalos is a Greek diver who has worked on sponging boats in the Aegean Sea since the age of 14, giving him a vast knowledge of the trade. When he hears of an opportunity to lead a group of spongers to the United States, he seizes it. But his excitement is quickly quelled when he arrives only to discover that a young woman with no experience in the business will be in charge of the new crews.

But as Zanna and Nico face even more complications than they could have imagined, they must learn to work together or risk everything they've worked so hard for.

Mini review: This was an interesting book! I liked the romance between Zanna and Nico! I liked the supporting cast of characters, too. And I didn't really know anything about sponging before I read this book, so I learned a little bit about that while reading, which was interesting! If you're looking for a good historical Christian novel, try reading this book!

I received an e-ARC of this book from the publisher.
