Happy Thanksgiving!

I already listed some of the things I'm thankful for in the TTT post this week, but I wanted to write a post specifically about the things I'm thankful for. I'm thankful for my family, I love them very very much. I'm thankful for my dog, he's adorable. I'm thankful for my friends. I'm thankful for God, all the things that come from being a Christian, and the peace being one gives me. I'm thankful for all the authors, their books, and that I will never run out of books to read. I'm thankful for all the little things that make me happy everyday. I'm thankful for my town, even with the problems that it has, I love it here. I'm thankful for all of you reading this post. I'm thankful for all the wonderful people I've talked to online because of this blog. I'm just thankful for many things, but I'm going to stop listing them now, because this post is getting long enough as is. :) I hope you all have as many things to be thankful for this holiday! Last thing left to say is,

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!

Top Ten Things I Am Thankful For

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

Top Five Bookish Things I'm Thankful For

1. My Library
I would not read nearly as many books as I do, if not for my library. If you don't use your library, why not? I don't know what I would do without mine.

2. Other Bloggers Blogs
I wouldn't find out about all the books I read, if not for other bloggers! :)

3. Bookstores
I don't have any indie bookstores in my town that sell new books, just used ones. But I love the chain bookstores that I have in my town.

4. Goodreads
I only use Goodreads for when I need to research a book, and also for keeping track of my TBR pile. But I don't know how I would keep track of all the books I want to read without it.

5. All the Amazing Books Being Published, and All the Amazing Authors Writing Them
This is kind of an obvious one, but I had to mention this anyway! Amazing books are releasing every month! I'm very thankful I'll never run out of books to read! And there are so many amazing authors. :)

Top Five Other Things I'm Thankful For

1. My Family
Okay, this an VERY obvious one. I love my family so much!

2. My Dog
I love my dog!

3. My Friends
Obviously. :)

4. My Home
Again, obviously. :)

5.  My Town
My town is awesome, I love it!

What are you all thankful for? :)

Waiting on Wednesday: How to Meet Boys

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine

This Wednesday I'm Waiting on: How to Meet Boys by Catherine Clark

Lucy can’t wait to spend the summer at the lake with her best friend, Mikayla. But when Jackson, the boy she’s been avoiding ever since he rejected her, reappears in her life, Lucy wonders if this summer to remember is one she’d rather forget.

Mikayla’s never had much luck talking to boys, but when she (literally) runs into the cutest guy she’s ever seen, and sparks fly, she thinks things might be looking up...until she realizes the adorable stranger is the same boy who broke her best friend’s heart.

As things begin to heat up between Mikayla and the one guy she should avoid, will Lucy be able to keep her cool or will the girls’ perfect summer turn into one hot mess?

Catherine Clark, the author of beach-read favorites Maine Squeeze and Love and Other Things I’m Bad At, has once again crafted a hilarious and spot-on portrayal of what it’s really like to be a teenager. Readers will love this irreverent coming-of-age story…and will be breathlessly turning the pages to find out what happens next.

Waiting on Wednesday: Wildflower

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine

This Wednesday I'm Waiting On: Wildflower by Alecia Whitaker

The best songs come from broken hearts.

Sixteen-year-old Bird Barrett has grown up on the road, singing backup in her family's bluegrass band, and playing everywhere from Nashville, Tennesee to Nowhere, Oklahoma. One fateful night, Bird fills in for her dad by singing lead, and a scout in the audience offers her a spotlight all her own.

Soon Bird is caught up in a whirlwind of songwriting meetings, recording sessions, and music video shoots. Her first single hits the top twenty, and suddenly fans and paparazzi are around every corner. She's even caught the eye of her longtime crush, fellow roving musician Adam Dean. With Bird's star on the rise, though, tradition and ambition collide. Can Bird break out while staying true to her roots?

In a world of glamour and gold records, a young country music star finds her voice.

Top Ten Covers I Wish I Could Redesign

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

This weeks TTT was another hard one! There aren't many covers that I don't like. I only thought of five for this week. I'm pretty happy with most of them. But there are a few that I don't like and wish I could redesign. Here they are!

Top Ten Covers I Wish I Could Redesign

The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall
It's not that I don't like the covers of these books, I do! It's just that I don't think they're very memorable. If I hadn't had a recommendation to read this book, I probably would never have noticed it. And that makes me sad to think about, because these books are so good. I think it needs a redesign so more people would pick it up and try it!

Turtle in Paradise by Jennifer L. Holm
Again, it's not that I don't like the cover of this book, I do! But this cover does not fit this book at all. Yes, it does take place in Key West. But she only goes to the beach like, once! I mean, it's been awhile since I read it, so I could be remembering it wrong. But to me, it just does not fit the book.

Circus Galacticus by Deva Fagan
This cover. Just, this cover. It's ugly. At least in my opinion. I wonder if the cover is why more people haven't tried this book? Definitely a case of "don't judge a book by it's cover" because this book is really good. The only good thing about the cover is the font at the top.

Rapunzel: The One with all the Hair by Wendy Mass
NO. No no no no no. Horrible, horrible cover for this book. The original cover wasn't bad, I liked the illustration on the cover of it. But this one? Just. No. The Really fake looking hair. The fact that she is wearing a modern dress, when the book is an old fashioned fairy tale. I'm sorry, No.

Beauty and the Beast: The Only One Who Didn't Run Away by Wendy Mass
I do like the cover for this book! It just doesn't fit the story, because if you gave the book a different title, would you guess it's a fairy tale retelling? The time period it takes place in, is definitely not modern. And yet, she's dressed like someone you would see today. It just doesn't work for the book.

There's my TTT list this week! What's on yours?

Do you love this song too? And, if you haven't heard it before, do you like it now? :)

Waiting on Wednesday: The Inventor's Secret

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking The Spine

This Wednesday I'm Waiting on: The Inventor's Secret by Andrea Cremer

Sixteen-year-old Charlotte and her fellow refugees have scraped out an existence on the edge of Britain’s industrial empire. Though they live by the skin of their teeth they have their health (at least when they can find enough food and avoid the Imperial Labor Gatherers) and each other. When a new exile with no memory of his escape from the coastal cities or even his own name seeks shelter in their camp he brings new dangers with him and secrets about the terrible future that awaits all those who have struggled has to live free of the bonds of the empire’s Machineworks.

The Inventor’s Secret is the first book of a YA steampunk series set in an alternate nineteenth-century North America where the Revolutionary War never took place and the British Empire has expanded into a global juggernaut propelled by marvelous and horrible machinery.

This book sounds really interesting!

Top Ten Sequels I Can't Wait to Get My Hands On!

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and The Bookish Blog

I could not think of ten books for this week, because (Like I've said before) I just don't read very many series. :( But just because I couldn't think of ten, doesn't mean I'm not super excited for these books! :)

Top Ten Seven Sequels I Can't Wait to Get My Hands On!

Otomen Vol. 17 by Aya Kanno
This was my WOW post last week! I was excited for it then, I'm excited for it now! :)

Let The Storm Break by Shannon Messenger
The first book was really, really good! I'm looking forward to reading what happens in the sequel! :)

Summer State of Mind by Jen Calonita
This is more of a companion book, than a sequel. But it is a book I'm really looking forward to! I read Sleepaway Girls awhile ago, and I was happy to hear she would be writing another book set at the camp!

Kimi Ni Todoke Vol. 18 by Karuho Shiina
This is one of my favorite manga series! And after the end of the last one? I NEED Vol. 18 now! ;)

Strobe Edge. Vol. 7 by Io Sakisaka

I didn't expect to love this series as much as I do! It is a very good series!  This volume comes out today!

Voice Over! Vol. 2 Maki Manami

And just because I want this book so much, I'm going to add this book to my top ten seven! Even though it has no cover, title, or summary!
