Are You Ready For Sweater Weather? The Autumn Tag

Hi, everyone! I saw this tag on JennieLy's blog that she created, and I thought that it looked like fun! :)

Hot Chocolate: Your Favorite Comfort Book?
The first book that came to mind is Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella. Even if I don't have time to reread it, I like to pick it up and skim through it to reread my favorite parts.

Pumpkin Carving: What is Your Favorite Creative Outlet?
It used to be drawing, but I fell away from that. I'm trying to get into it again, but I would say crafts right now. I love all kinds of crafts, but one of my favorites is making wreaths!

Falling Leaves: Changes That Appear Bad But You Secretly Love?
I hate change. I know that's bad, but change stresses me out, and I just don't like it. I guess I could say change that keeps me from eating at my favorite restaurants, and forces me to try new ones. (I know that's a pathetic response but it's all I could come up with!)

Pumpkin Spiced Latte: Something You Love That Others Tend to Judge?
Disney! I love anything that involves Disney, but I've been judged so many times because of that. I don't care what people say, just because I'm an adult doesn't mean I can't love Disney!

Bonfire Night: What Makes You Explode With Joy?
When I get to read a new book or watch a new movie that I've been anticipating for awhile!

Fright Night: Favorite Scary Book or Film?
I've talked about this before, but I don't like scary books/movies. It's just not for me. But two movies that I love watching for Halloween are Hotel Transylvania and the newer Ghostbusters!

Halloween Candy: Favorite Thing to Eat?
Anything chocolate! Seriously. I love dark, white, milk, if it's chocolate I love it!

Scarves: Your Autumn "Must Have" Accessory?
My answer for this one is actually scarves! I love accessorizing my outfit with a pretty scarf!

Fire: A Book or Film That Burns Your Soul?
I don't know what book or movie to pick for this question!

Toffee Apples: A Book or Film That Seems One Thing But Really Has a Different Inside?
I know I have an answer to this question, but I can't think of it right now.

I really enjoyed answering these questions! Thank you to Jenniely for creating this fun tag! I tag anyone who wants to participate in it! :)

Random Friday: Movie Soundtracks

Random Friday is hosted by Awkwordly Emma

The Random Friday topic this week is Movie Soundtracks! I decided I'm going to focus on Disney soundtracks this week, because that was what came to mind first when I saw what the topic was. I also decided that I would just pick five, to really highlight my favorites! (Though, I should have just called this my favorite Disney Princess albums, because all the soundtracks I picked are from those movies.) Here we go!

Frozen
I love this whole album! I could listen to it all the time.

The Little Mermaid
I've loved this album since I was little. (Part of Your World is my favorite!) And in my opinion, it has the best Disney villain song of all the movies.

Mulan
Who doesn't like this album?

Tangled
*sings When Will My Life Begin?*

Brave
I love the instrumental music, and Touch the Sky is fantastic!

What are your favorite movie soundtracks? :)

Discussion: Bookmarks

Hi, everyone! With all the talk of bookmarks on Twitter, I thought it would be fun to write a discussion post about what people use as bookmarks

Bookmarks
The most obvious answer to the title of this blog post! I collect bookmarks, and I use them when I'm able to/remember to.

Random scraps of paper, receipts, etc.
I have done this before, but not recently.

Dog-Ear the Page
I used to bookmark my books this way, when I was little.

Remembering What Page You Left Off On or Just Randomly Opening the Book and Trying to Find the Page.
I do this a lot! Especially if I don't have a bookmark nearby, I just try to remember the page # or at least around the page #.

What about you? How do you keep track of where you're reading? :)

Halloween Picture Books

Hi, everyone! I love Halloween! But I don't like scary stories. Which is why I love reading picture books for Halloween! It lets me celebrate the holiday, without reading books that would scare me too much. My Mom and I read picture books together at Halloween, it's fun! Which is why I thought it would be fun to list a few Halloween picture books here on the blog! (And I also recommend reading YABookNerd's blog, she wrote two posts with lots of good recommendations! Post 1 and Post 2.) There are seven books listed in this post, 4 that I've read, and 3 that I want to read. Here we go!

Wallpapers! Vol. 1

Hi, everyone! Today is the launch of a brand new feature on the blog, where I make wallpapers for your desktops and your phones! (I know of only one other blog who makes them, and that's Pop! Goes the Reader! She has been making wallpapers for awhile, and they're really cool!) I like making wallpapers for fun, and I thought it might be nice to make a feature of it on the blog. This won't be a weekly feature (At least not right now.), but more like whenever I make a few that I think you all might like. These aren't based on any books, but are more universally book/writing related. Though, I will be making some with quotes from books on them! If you have any requests, leave them in the comments, or tell me on Twitter, and maybe I'll be able to use them in a future post! Here we go! :)

Just click on the wallpapers and save/download them to whatever device you want.

Do you like any of these? And do you have any requests/ideas for future wallpapers? :)

Discussion: To Binge or Not to Binge?

Hi, everyone! Today I wanted to post about something I was talking about the other day, and that's binge reading. I was talking about binge reading, and how I have a hard time with it because even if I LOVE the books I'm reading, I have a hard time staying focused on the same series for more than two in a row. I love the idea of binge reading a whole series, but I've found that I have to add in a different book between the series books to keep my attention.

It's not that I'm not enjoying the series I'm reading. I think it's because I begin to think about all the books on my TBR pile, and how I need to read them all. And then I think about a different genre, and by the time I'm done, I'm losing focus on the book I'm reading, and I need a new book to read. I have discovered that if I read one book in a series, then a totally different book, then the next book in the series, I'm able to stay focused that way.

I'm not that way with TV shows. I'm able to binge watch multiple seasons of a show in a row (Though not multiple seasons in one night!), and keep focused on them. But I think it's because it takes me longer to read a book (One day if I'm able to read the entire day. Up to a week or more if I'm really busy.), than it takes me to watch a TV show episode (thirty-minutes to an hour).

What about you? Do you like to binge read? Or are you like me? Tell me! :)

Review: Aiming For Love

Review: Aiming For Love (Brides of Hope Mountain #1) by Mary Connealy

Growing up in Colorado, Josephine Madson has been fascinated by but has shied away from the outside world--one she's been raised to believe killed her parents. When Dave Warden, a rancher, shows up to their secret home with his wounded father, will Josephine and her sisters risk stepping into the world to help or remain separated but safe on Hope Mountain?
-summary and cover via Goodreads

Plot: It was really good! I liked the premise of Jo, Ilsa, and Ursula living up on the mountain their whole lives, and getting to read their reactions to things that were so different to them but normal to the rest of the characters. I appreciated the fact that the book went right into the story, and didn't have a lot of filler before the story really began. I also liked getting glimpses at what the plot (I assume) of the next two books will be.

Characters: Jo was a really good main character! I liked Dave, and his family. I also look forward to reading a book with Ilsa as the main character.

The cover: I like it!

Overall: I really enjoyed reading this book! It was a really good beginning to a new series, and I look forward to reading the next book! I highly recommend this book!

I received an e-ARC of this book from the publisher.
