What do YOU think? Paperback vs. Hardcover

I was thinking about whether or not I like hardcovers better than paperbacks and decided that it would make a good blog post to ask all of you and see your opinions about it. I thought I would make a list of pro's and con's about them both to see what would win.

Well, for me paperback wins! What about you all? What would win for you? Tell me in the comments!

  1. First off, I love the picture you made! I was just thinking about this the other day. I used to be a firm pro-hardcover, but I now love paperbacks way more. The bad thing is, is that paperbacks are released later now so you can't really flow with the series as soon, you know? But I so agree on PB winning!

    1. Thank you! Yeah, I wish paperbacks were released at the same time as the hardcover. I mean, I get why they aren't, but it would be nice if they were! Good, someone else who prefers PB! I was afraid I'd be the only one who does! :)

  2. I also love they way you turned this discussion into a chart! As someone who gets most of her books from the library, price doesn't matter much to me and I have to say I prefer hardbacks. They are a lot easier to prop open, and I always fear I will ruin a paperback while reading because they are so delicate. I can see why you prefer paperbacks though, and I completely agree with the lighter and easier to carry points; I like taking the more flimsy books on vacation. :)

    1. Thanks! I actually get most of my books from the library also, but when I do buy, I prefer to buy PB. I do love how sturdy hardbacks are! I'm someone who likes to have multiple books with me, that's one reason why I like PB! :)

  3. Ha! I totally agree with you :-) I freakin love paperbacks! They're lighter and cheaper! Plus, I think you could squeeze in more books in your bookshelf when your books are paperbacks. I think a con that you missed is that we have to wait a year before a paperback could be released.

    1. Yes! Another person who prefers PB! I did miss adding a con about having to wait a year! That's a good one. Thanks! :)
