Interview With Taj McCoy!

Hi, everyone! Today I'm happy to present an interview with Taj McCoy, author the Adult novel, Savvy Sheldon Feels Good as Hell, which releases in March!

Would you please describe your book, Savvy Sheldon Feels Good as Hell, in seven words?

WOW! This was hard: Savvy finds love while renovating her life.

Did you always want to be a writer?

Always. I've been writing forever and was first published in elementary school (twice). Since then, I've always wanted to be a full-time writer, and in 2021, I made work changes to make that an actual reality.

Random Question! What’s your favorite reality TV show?

So many come to mind! Lately, I've been really into Selling Sunset, but I'm a big RHOA and Married to Medicine fan.

What’s one piece of advice you would give aspiring authors?

You're going to receive advice from a lot of people--most of them mean well and proffer their suggestions with the best of intentions, but that doesn't mean that they know what's best. Take what resonates with you and your goals, and leave the rest.

What are some books you’re looking forward to reading in 2022? And if you’ve already read some ‘22 books, would you like to mention them?

There are SO MANY books coming in 2022 that I can't wait to read!! I'm looking forward to Saving Sara King by Catherine Adel West, Love Times Infinity by Lane Clarke (debut), Do You Take This Man by Denise Williams, Kamila Knows Best by Farah Heron, The Hookup Plan by Farrah Rochon, Ashes of Gold by J.Elle, A Proposal They Can't Refuse by Natalie CaƱa (debut), The Accidental Pinup by Danielle Jackson (debut), and Ellen Outside the Lines by AJ Sass (and honestly there are so many more!!). I am currently reading a couple of '22 books: Would You Rather by Allison Ashley and The Close-Up by Sarah Smith.

Her debut novel--a romcom featuring a plus-size heroine--SAVVY SHELDON'S FEELING GOOD AS HELL will be published by MIRA Books (Harlequin HarperCollins). When she’s not writing, she may be on Twitter boosting other marginalized writers, trying to zen out in yoga, sharing recipes on her website, or cooking private supper club meals for close friends.
